In the early 1900s, a series of horrific axe murders terrorized families across Louisiana and Texas, leaving entire households slaughtered in their beds. The investigation eventually led authorities to a young black woman named Clementine Barnabet, who confessed to dozens of killings and claimed they were carried out on behalf of a secret religious cult known as the “Church of Sacrifice.”
But was she telling the truth?
